Our third day was similar to our last two: basically a bit of shopping to get the necessities of our stay here, some eating, and then the rest of the day BEACH!!
The friends of ours that are also here, by coincidence, have moved hotels today (Capri Laguna Inn). It is right on the beach in Laguna Beach... ritzy area. This particular hotel has come into the years, but is nice enough... and being right on the beach in Laguna is pretty convenient!
So we spent the day with them and soaked up lots of sun. The kids played in the water (which was very chilly) and Alessandro tried his luck at skim boarding. For a while it looked like he was not doing so badly, but then some locals came around and showed how it should be done. As always, "practice makes permanent".
In the evening the plan was to stroll around Laguna, find a small place to have some light nibbles, and a couple of beers. Good plan... execution was a bit faulty.
We ended up in a place that looked "lite" but in fact was apparently the "new place" in laguna.....Sapphire Laguna. After commenting to our waiter that we thought the menu was a bit limited, he quickly informed us that this was the most popular place on the strip at the moment, and that they serve many "stars".
So, most of us quickly had some appetizers, I had Sword fish and Alessandro ordered an Asian fish dish, which he quickly traded with me. We did not spend much time for dinner and then left.......after paying a rather largish bill for what we had.
Call it learning experience.
