Today we took a ride to the lake city of Elsinore. Leaving Dana point you quickly enter a mountainous area, and strangely enough, much higher temperature than near the beach. The ride was picturesque and curvy, and the kids thought they were going to be bored. But, after about 30 minutes along route 74 (traveling upwards all the way), you come to this crest where you have a full view of the lake.
We did some quick shopping in the city of Elsinore
(where the peole were once again super friendly), and got the necessities of a picknick. Then we found a spot on the lake that we liked and picknicked.
One problem: the sand was so hot you could not walk on the sand nor sit in the sun for more than 5 minutes! The water was so warm that even Petra had no problem with it! Now that is warm.
There were plenty of local people, with their boats, jetskis and innertubes enjoying the area too. it seems like such a nice place, with the climate, the water, the open beachfront area! Joachim and I were beginning to dream about how nice it would be to have a house on the water here, with all of the comforts.... and then a private jet so that we could get somewhere to earn enough money to pay for it all......and then we woke up!
A nice day.
